It’s funny, but we see this sort of derp all throughout history.
Someone has a Brilliant Plan- often based on a mixture of ideology and bad information- and they are going to by god go through with it, even if the initial results point towards “Big Mistake”. They keep going, and bad things happen.
I suspect the same brain trust behind Hillary’s 2016 fiasco had something to do with this.
Is a sitting Congressman endorsing dragging the rest of Congress out into the National Mall and shooting them?
That is a campaign promise I can get behind.
