Here are some videos from Seattle and Portland, showing what the police are having to deal with in those cities.

Over and over again, violence, rioting, destruction of property, arson, and attacks on federal property.  The police are being injured, mortar fireworks are being thrown at them, they are facing down horrible violence.  We saw the same thing in Chicago.

The local police are either overwhelmed or hamstrung by local politicians which is why the federal government was sent in.

The mayors of these cities want federal law enforcement out of their cities because they have no control over federal law enforcement.  They can’t tell the federal government not to use tear gas or to give the rioters room to riot.

City leaders are encouraging lawlessness.

I cannot for the life of me understand why they are doing this, but they are.

I will say it again: if duly elected officials of these cities want the chaos, let them have it.

  1. So Portland was once a beautiful full of wonderful people. But it’s now a become a magnet for every shitbird in the country. Their so called mayor and city council should be ridden out on a rail.

  2. The why is because the Democratic People’s Republics have a bigger percentage of far-Left Radicals that vote for mayors, town councilpersons, aldermen and so on.
In order to avoid becoming ex-mayors, town councilpersons, aldermen and so on, they have to play to this group

  3. Wheeler is up for reelection in November. He is in a run-off with some crazy progressive woman who says she is Antifa. There is no, zero, nil chance Portland will ever elect a Rudy Giuliani to restore sanity to it.

Too bad it is a hub for critical infrastructure like roads, transportation, and communications.

  4. Aesop of Raconteur Report makes a compelling case AGAINST abandoning any area to the ferals. Has some components of “no man left behind”, as well as something akin to “my family, your family built this, f’em if they think we’re simply going to uproot and run away!”

I think that any “simple” answer is fraught with problems.

  5. I know the police chief in Kansas City and he’s definitely one of the good guys. Naturally the left wants his resignation.

  6. Today’s lead editorial in the WSJ, as well as an op-ed by William McGurn, argue for something akin to “let it burn, they asked for it”.

  7. Talked to friend of mine who lives in Portland. The Police Association building that the rioters burned was two doors over from where she worked. Note that this was the second attack on that building the first (unsuccessful) one was a couple of days earlier. She is really frightened and angry. I offered her and her partner a bolt hole here if she needs it.
