Birmingham Police are investigating a home invasion that ended with the suspect being shot by the resident of the home.
The incident occurred around 6:00 p.m. on 6th Avenue South. Lt. Sean Edwards tells WIAT 42 News that the suspect came to the home earlier in the day, inquiring about a truck at the residence. After talking with the woman who lived in the home, he left.
He returned a short time later and approached the woman who was outside the home. He then forced his way into the home, demanding money from her. She pulled a debit card from her purse, as well as a small handgun from a side pocket, shooting the suspect in the hand.
The man fled the scene and has not been located. The woman was not injured.

Puppies, sunsets and suspects with gunshot injuries make me smile.
[…] Woman shoots home invader. […]
It WOULD be interesting if she showed up at a function though… ;-D
An excellent diversion tactic. More people need to think like this, there would be less violent crimes and criminals would REALLY know the risks they are taking.
Nice shooting.
Hitting a thief in the hand has kind of a Biblical perspective to it.
She should come and post as Molon Babe!!!
