Another “new” experience: Smoke from the fires out West combining with the local fog and making for an eerie morning.
Fog is kind of weird in South Florida and when it happens, it dissipates rather fast between the wind and the sun burning through it. And when the Everglades catch on fire, we will have smoke, it once again the breeze will take care of it rather fast. When I was living here in the 80’s I got caught in heavy fog at night driving outside Knoxville and scared the crap out of me since I could not see past the effing hood of the truck. I pulled over, got out, walked away as far as I could and waited till it lifted. Zero visual references (like visible road) is simply too much of a challenge for me behind the wheel.
And according to the NWS, we are going to be dealing with this crap all day. Good thing I am expecting my moving container today (was supposed to be here yesterday) so I have no need to go out.
I know, I am a wuss.
They’re not called the “ Smoky Mountains” for nothing.
Wait till you get to experience a snowstorm. 🙂
Fog is like darkness- its not the fog, its whats hiding in the fog…..get some clothes line n tie one end to the porch and one end to yer ass heh heh
Yeah, a lot of fires out west. Mostly from those wonderful places like California and Oregon. Out here in Arizona we’ve gotten up a lot of rain in the past couple weeks. Our fires are out of are mostly contained.
California is the worst of them but what do you except for the state that would rather spend money to give needles to drug addicts then use it a clear trees near powerlines.
Looks like that here in Fairbanks. Between the fires in Siberia and the ones nearby it’s a tad hazy.
