Because I’d probably be arrested for inserting a poster in some school official’s rear end and setting it on fire:
Che Guevara as classroom icon? Really? Is there per chance a poster of Lavrentiy Beria we are not seeing in the photo? maybe a portrait Josef Mengele at the nurse’s office?
Growing up in Miami, I had friends whose grandparents survived the Cuban Revolution. I remember them recounting to us, the horrors that they saw committed by the communist forces.
My family is Jewish, but has been in the US since the late 1800’s. I didn’t have any close relatives in the concentration camps. But reading about the experiences European Jews had and then hearing about what the pro-democracy Cubans had, if felt so similar. Having to hide, worrying about being rounded up and shot against a wall, the mass graves. What Castro and Che did was horrific, to a level that most Americans will never understand.
To put a heroic picture of Che up in a classroom is so disguising, I barely have words for it. He was not hero, he was a man that murdered the pregnant wives of his political enemies. That a White House official would have his picture taken in from of that poster. That this White House would allow that picture to be released says so much about the contempt this White House has for history, liberty, and the victims of communist oppression. It is, to me, bordering on treasonous.
Oh my GOD if I see shit like that in my daughter’s classroom I will be ONE HELL of a squeaky wheel until it disappears.
I’d be tempted to rip it off the wall and invite all who I encounter leaving the building to watch me burn it in the parking lot…but that would make me a criminal.
So yeah, instead I’ll talk to teachers, administrators, local and national press until they take the picture of a child murderer down from my child’s classroom!
SO sick!
This is where I’d get in trouble.
Call my hubby for bail money, then get out the lighter.
…
Thank God I got out while I still can…
I survived college with my conservative leanings intact as well. And also graduated with a degree in 4 years and only owing 32k compared to 100+k some of my peers are doing.
A four year degree is possible. It just requires a clear goal, pacing, and knowing what you want….
Wait does that make me a person apart from my peers? D:
