Reader Mal Roadkill loves to send me pics of knives with Wharncliffe blades.
And of course the bahstad has expensive tastes. The Runtly Black Shinner only runs for $139, but it looks like it is well worth it. There is an inherit beauty to a well designed knife. And with a good Wharcliff profile, I feel the massive threat you get out of a revolver.
And then to end his cruelty, he sends me to a new (to me) brand of knife: CJRB cutlery where my eye locks on not only Mal’s example but to a couple more I would not mind and in the mid $30s.
The CJRB Cutlery Briar Flipper
Consider this Mal’s recommendations for Christmas gifts for those you haven’t found something yet.
I feel your pain Miguel, I have a very similar situation I experience when I go to this website; it’s my drug of choice. I’ve got several of his offerings – https://winklerknives.com/
If you think I’m going to stop…
I share your addiction to knives. I had to mutter and choke when my wife last asked me how many knives I had. Maybe it is because of that number, but I’ve (finally?) drawn a line and will not purchase a knife from China, even though their quality in both design and manufacture have greatly improved and are becoming world class. YMMV, but I can’t do it any more. Wish I had the same options in other products that I have in knives for Made in USA. The flow was starting to reverse but I fear that will stop in the coming years. Without manufacturing, a country is just a shell.
I am trying hard to avoid Chinese products these days myself. I completely understand.
