I can verify what you’re saying about percentage of female pilots. I’m currently sitting in a Gulfstream 650 initial ground school class. The ratio of men to women is 8:1. If this were airline training, I assume they would make 7 men leave.

They will hire on the lowest 5% rather than have a workforce that reflects the actual pilot community.
Applying the wrong standard to a population is the problem, not having women or multiethnic pilots.

I used to fly United all the time, but after their labor issues and mergers the only way I darken the door to one of their planes is if there’s zero alternative. I’ll fly a budget airline first. Last two flights I had were booked for me so I had no control. And they were miserable. Now, they’ll be dangerous. Because you won’t know until you get on the plane who is flying it.
Which with United, at least on domestic flights I’ve been on, is not United. It’s United, flown by Bob’s Airline and Bait Shop.
They use a lot of contractors from my experience.

I just want people who can keep the plane in the air after takeoff and land it safely. That should be the priority over race quotas. Crashing is generally discouraged, no matter the skin color.
