I love stealing stuff from Greg Ellifritz. He made a point in Facebook about somebody who has not travelled with guns in a decade gets contradictory. Oh well, I trust the guy who has flown with more guns than probably even Special Forces in military trips.

  1. I can vouch for the quality of the Travel Armor cases. Also, I really like the dense memory foam they use vs the usual spongy, fast-springback stuff.

  2. I had one incident involving discovering that my hard case had a pry attempt. I switched to a Negrini case which I cable lock to the suitcase frame. So far, so good.

I did have an issue with TSA flying home from AZ with 2 cased pistols. The guy wanted me to show them…without touching the cases or the guns. We still made our flight, though.

  3. Greg forgot one point: If you’re a regular person without an LEOSA ID, you must be aware of layovers.

People have been arrested and lost their guns when they unexpectedly had to stop in NYC or NJ and had to claim their luggage. When they returned to check in, they had to again declare their firearms while they were unpermited. Not good.
