Houston couple buys a bunch of empty gun cases from a military surplus website… only to discover… not all the cases were empty. ?? The story of the wayward M16s, only on #abc13 at 4 & 6. pic.twitter.com/iIYsAJ9XJQ

Sigh.
I have to wonder whether that case wasn’t, ah, “meant” for a specific recipient.
Regardless, quite a mistake on somebody’s part.
Hhhmmmm, this is like another episode of “barn finds” where they “just happen to find an ultra rare one-of-one car”… I have one of those rifle cases, wouldnt you notice one was heavier than the others??? And great way to get a 3am no knock from the atf by instagram posting….
Tin foil fedora warning…
Wonder if the current administration just got their next “mass shooting” event spoiled.
Dear dictionary, what is a naif?
@JB: On which end of the “transaction”? 8>)
Saw a comment on another board, someone asking why people always announce it when they find stuff like this.
.
Well … by definition, we usually don’t hear about those instances where people do stay quiet about it. It did make me wonder, though, what the ratio is between announcing it and not.
.
Another thought … in a good and just world, it seems to me we would be applauding the people who turned in the rifles, not mocking them.
So sorry, Boris, but the good and just world ended a couple of decades ago, all that’s left now is the ending, we win and they don’t or they win and we die. Be ready, it ain’t going to be pleasant, much less pretty.
@It’s just Boris: Perhaps the BATFE (and really big fires) can post their mug shots before trial.
As noted, there is no exemption for possession even when turning them in, so WTF? If (very hypothetically) I were to find myself in such a situation, I would be tempted (not really) to make them disappear.
Alternatively, to (somehow) anonymously drop them off to authorities (without leaving DNA evidence).
