Nobody wants to eat bugs.
The elites want you to eat bugs. They are not going to eat them, you will.
They will be eating aged steaks because they can still afford them after imposing climate change policy that drives up the price of beef beyond something you can afford.
The elites hate, hate, hate, that you in your middle-class lifestyle can afford beef and cheese and foods once only regularly eaten by the areistocracy.
So they are going to take it away from you and humiliate you.
You will eat bugs. They will eat steak. They will tell you this is for the climate. It’s not. They just can’t stand the idea of the proles eating steak too.
And, they’ll be eating their steaks while flying around in their personal carbon-spewing jets.

The one from the Economist about why they eat bugs in the Congo is almost funny – except if you live there. “The creepy food is rich in potassium and magnesium” Great. I propose an experiment. Go ask the Congolese why they eat the bugs and I bet if you asked a hundred that not one would answer that. I bet no more than one or two even know what potassium and magnesium are. Besides, beef is high in both of those, too.
The reason why they eat bugs is because there’s nothing else they can get.
The Congo is poor because the environmentalists won’t let them develop to get useful energy and do things to better their lives. The greenies want the country undeveloped because it’s prettier. They don’t give a rat’s ass about the people, it’s all for Rich White Leftist priorities.
Good point about “won’t let them develop”. If you read between the lines in “climate policy” it’s clear that (a) developed countries have to be pushed down, but just as importantly (b) non-developed countries must not be allowed to develop.
If you want to make their head spin, ask them to consider the world’s energy picture when all the world is at, to set a modest target, the standard of living in today’s Europe.

My buddy has a family diary from the Revolution. One entry tells about how the Continental troops were so hungry they were forced to eat lobster. So, tastes can change.
What the elites really want us to eat is Soylent Green.
You see, they are going to need all that grazing land to grow hemp. Hemp oil and fibers are the miracle crop that will replace petroleum products. Hundreds/thousands of acres of hemp will be required to get enough hemp oil to replace what is available from a single barrel of petroleum.
In order to achieve their green dream, their all electric cars must not contain any petroleum derived plastics, lubricants, or (GASP! The HORRORS!) fuels. Every time I ask a greenie what they will use to replace those non-gasoline items, they always point to hemp.
So, those awful herd animals are hogging up the lands needed to keep the machinery moving. They must be gotten rid of.
They are conditioning you to view your freedom as selfish.
If they can sell that, they have you.
Your freedom to think, act, buy, sell, work, produce, believe as you choose is not selfish. It is the birthright of a free people. NEVER let them tell you that exercising your ability to make choices is selfish. NEVER.
The rulers, of course, will still have their steak. And they’ll tell you they have to, in order to fulfill their duties to make your decisions for you. And they’ll expect you to accept it, and even honor them, for doing so.
Otherwise, gulag for you.
They are conditioning you to view your freedom as selfish. Don’t fall for it.
