Wife: The Stimulus money just got deposited.
Me: Well that is great! (Me starts to think what kind of gun shit is coming) What are you gonna do with yours?
Wife: Oh, the money is already on the House Expenses account. We will use it for property taxes.
Me: That is a great idea sweetie (Mental grumble about personal responsibility and she being right.)

I am officially hating the pandemic.

    1. I sold most of my shootie things a few years back during a spate of unemployment. Kept the ammo stock piles though as it’s easy to get another gun, finding more ammo during a crisis is nearly impossible. The fact that ammo prices always rise faster than gun prices and gun-shops always offer way to little for it also helps that decision.

  1. Think ahead:

Pay the taxes tomorrow for the money you received today.

A glimmer of joy to a wash.

    Oh good golly, by golly

  2. I got mine today. Going to build a spare AR-15 upper. I’m putting over half into savings. I don’t actually need it; after paying off two of my loans with my tax return; that’s several hundred a month not allocated I can use on something else. I’d buy ammo but that’s not going to happen right now.

I got it before my mom. She’s getting a paper check since she always has to pay, they don’t have her checking info so it will take longer. I’m not going to say anything. She’ll just say that Trump hates seniors and want her to lose her home and die. But she has terminal stage 4 TDS so it’s pointless to argue. Then ask for some because I’m her son and she will feel entitled to it since I got it first because I’m her son, a male, younger and can work.

    1. Update. Saved $700. Used the rest to buy an AR-15 barrel for my build and found a case of 7.62×39 for $260 which is reasonable in these times. Buying the upper parts piece by piece since no one is buying BCG’s and stripped uppers en masse. Looks like I’ll be shooting the AK a lot more until I can get 5.56 at reasonable prices again. You can find it but I’m not paying $500 for a case of XM193. I’ll be sure to buy a couple cases when the madness ends.

  3. Ammo.
    AR Parts.
    Computer Upgrades.

Once upon a time that money would have gone to upgrading my automobile. Sigh. The 70s.

  4. Ours will just cover the 3% of the wife’s annual paycheck (roughly $3000 pre-tax) that her company (Suez Water) decided to steal from their U.S. employees over the next 5 bi-weekly checks (roughly $600, also pre-tax). Note I said U.S. employees… their Canadian, French, and most other country employees they are NOT screwing over with this. Oh they also retroactively reduced the percentage calculations for the bonuses this year, to figures that were calculated to equal what they poorly budgeted for, not what was actually accomplished in terms of goals met by their employees.
