This decrepit useless fuck-shit has a degree in English Literature from an Ivy League university and is an anchor for a major media network.

Every single G-d damned day they prove over and over again, ad nauseam, just how little they actually know, how much of what they have is unearned and obtained through favors and connections, and how utterly unqualified they are to be lecturing us on anything.

  2. The Sound and the Fury is a Faulkner novel. Admittedly I never finished reading it myself, but I think they are attempting to make a clever I see what you did there joke indicating they are well read because that is a “literary” classic and Faulkner is well regarded for his “literary” status.

    Note that literary is in quotes because I mean it in the sense that it is work that is accepted and appreciated for its technical and literary properties not to imply is is not literary, work that is to say is generally consumed for its literary qualities and not necessarily it entertainment value like something simpler.

    It is reasonable to guess they are also making a larger joke about Faulkner and his work in general but im personally, largely unfamiliar with it.

  4. It’s not that they’re blithering ignorant idiots, that’s a given. it’s that THEY THINK they’re smarter than everybody and always try to lord their god-like superiority with everybody. I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve corrected a liberal’s historical inaccuracies with the usual caveat at the end: “if you don’t believe me research it yourself.” Or as John Loeffler quips, “your failure to be informed does not make me a whacko.”

  5. Problem is not who wrote what.

    The problem is Mitchell thinks she is some kind of mind reader. That somehow , she knows better what Ted Cruz is saying than he does. And, she goes for what I can only assume she thinks is an easy lay up from the 3 point line, and misses entirely.

    1. All leftists are mind readers. I’ve lost count of the times I’ve carefully explained my position, the evidence and reasoning behind it, and had a leftist tell me it was really because I’m “racist”.

  6. It’s more a symptom of not being willing to look beyond the surface of anything. Like increasing the minimum wage, like completely open borders, like draconian environmental treaties, everything sounds wonderful until you probe the second- and third-order effects.

    Now, I read quite a bit but I prefer to consume entertaining fiction in quantity. I’ve never read Faulkner, so looked it up. It took precisely 2 searches to figure out that Faulkner titled the book based on Macbeth. One search using Cruz’s words, to ascertain that they produce Shakespeare as the top result, and the second to link Faulkner’s title to the play via Encyclopedia Brittanica (and indeed, 3 of the first 5 results).

    I’m not a journalist. I’m just a dude slacking off at work. You’d think someone who styles themself as an award-winning reporter of truth would have better research skills.
