Semi-retired like Vito Corleone before the heart attack. Consiglieri to J.Kb and AWA. I lived in a Gun Control Paradise: It sucked and got people killed. I do believe that Freedom scares the political elites.

  1. Texas can drag it out for six months. It took me 3 weeks to get the extra paperwork the bureaucrats wanted. Then they sat on it for FIVE months, till I emailed them again, at which point I didn’t give a ratsass anyway, and asked “just what do y’all want? I’ve sent in everything you wanted.” Three weeks later the license came in.

  2. Next May I’ll have had my TN HCP for 10years.

Tennessee has been great, efficiency wise, on speed of issuance and renewals. Not only did TN lower the permit fees (this never happens!) a few years ago, they also lengthened the permit period to 8years for non-lifetime permits.

  3. As I recall, NH by law mandates a permit must be decided within 10 business days or it is presumed to be granted.
A friend of ours put in her paperwork (at the town office or town police office, don’t remember which of the two) a while back, and had the permit delivered to her home by the local Officer Friendly just 3 or 4 days later. That was after NH passed Constitutional Carry; the permit is still useful for reciprocity.
