An enormous swath of Americans live with no real serious problems.
They have no fear that they may not have a next meal or clean water to drink. That if they get sick they will be unable to see a doctor and be healed. That the next time the weather gets too hot or too cold they might die of exposure. Or that an animal might eat them or a neighboring tribe or warlord might kill them or enslave them.
I might go on to say that perhaps human beings are not evolved to live in such a relative paradise.
It’s funny, but in the movie The Matrix, Agent Smith explains that in the first few iterations of the Matrix, simulated life was idyllic and the humans died.
In the Bible, humanity gets itself cast out of Eden.
Nevertheless, when people live lives of such ease, all they do is become resentful of the tiny imperfections they see.
All of America everywhere isn’t perfect to their standards so they hate it.
Nothing demonstrates this more than sponsored athletes, given every advantage in life, showing disrespect to the nation and to a veteran who fought real evil to protect this nation.
I wonder what the parents of those players are thinking when they watch their children turn their backs on this our country on the world stage. If it was my child I would publicly disown them.
I tend to suspect that most of them are Red Diaper Babies, with parents that have fashionably radical views.
Good points.
I’m reminded of something that I heard Bill Whittle say. Tough times make tough men. Tough men make easy times. Easy times make easy men. Easy men make tough times. Or something to that effect.
There are various versions, but this is my personal favorite:
“Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times.”

God help us!
I read this morning about this condition:
http://www.diogenesmiddlefinger.com/
names it
“this combination of insanity, stupidity and self-hatred that is sometimes called ‘Oikophobia.’”
Interesting observation that actually fits the symptoms we see today.
The prognosis for those who suffer from this condition is NOT good.
MSG Grumpy
Grumpy, if things get out of hand, many people are saying their prognosis is terminal. If it isn’t possible to medicate a crazy libtard into a semblance of normalcy, removal from society is the only way to protect society.
While I am definitely not a fan of the politics that some members of the USWNT have chosen to espouse, I’m not sure there is as much to this as some people would like to think. I found some better video on Youtube, and it appears that the ones who turned away did so in order to face the flag at the end of the stadium near the scoreboard. Some of these ladies also appear to have their hands over their heart.
Now, IF (and that may be a big if) this is what they are actually doing, I don’t believe it was as a sign of disrespect to the hero playing the national anthem. It was, in fact, in keeping with Title 36 U.S. Code § 301 – National anthem:
“(b) Conduct During Playing.—During a rendition of the national anthem—
(1) when the flag is displayed—
(A) individuals in uniform should give the military salute at the first note of the anthem and maintain that position until the last note;
(B) members of the Armed Forces and veterans who are present but not in uniform may render the military salute in the manner provided for individuals in uniform; and
(C) all other persons present should face the flag and stand at attention with their right hand over the heart, and men not in uniform, if applicable, should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart; and
(2) when the flag is not displayed, all present should face toward the music and act in the same manner they would if the flag were displayed.”
But the real point is: due to their decisions to engage in some of the politics they have, while representing our country, this controversy is entirely believable.
I personally have no idea what the whole truth is, and basically won’t believe anything that I hear about it from either side.
From the Twitter comments, it looks like most of the women turned to the camera’s left to face the flag which was in that direction.
The flag was on one side, the vet playing the harmonica was on the other. Some of them kept watching the vet, some of them turned to face the flag. They are creating a controversy where there should be none, none of them were trying to disrespect the flag or the vet.
