Where a Hispanic Catholic, and a Computer Geek write about Gun Rights, Self Defense and whatever else we can think about.
Semi-retired like Vito Corleone before the heart attack. Consiglieri to J.Kb and AWA. I lived in a Gun Control Paradise: It sucked and got people killed. I do believe that Freedom scares the political elites.

Still worth contemplating, though somehow “Boris the Barbarian” doesn’t have quite the right ring to it.
We need to bring back dueling.
Bring back dueling.
Yup.
The parties go to Court, and spell out exactly the terms of the duel, name their seconds, etc, after a mental examination and competency is confirmed. The agreement must be entered in open Court in person and on the record by both parties and seconds and any named witnesses, spelling out weapons, place, time, terms, and time limits. The agreement must be in writing, and either party may withdraw from the agreement by giving notice to the other party or his/her second. Financial receipt or payment by either party or any third party to either is barred; so too is sale of any commercial broadcast or recording.
If a party is killed during the duel, and the duel is carried out according to the terms in the agreement, there is no prosecution, no penalty.
If on the other hand, a party “cheats” on the terms of the duel, it’s a murder charge. And frankly, a pretty easy conviction.
You could accomplish all of the prep work in a single afternoon, given some thought to standardizing the procedures and requirements.
I share General Grant’s attitude towards dueling: If I decide a man deserves to die, I’m not going to give him an even chance.
