Trump Derangement Syndrome strikes again. First the outrage:

GENEVA (Reuters) – Poverty in the United States is extensive and deepening under the Trump administration whose policies seem aimed at removing the safety net from millions of poor people, while rewarding the rich, a U.N. human rights investigator has found.
Philip Alston, U.N. special rapporteur on extreme poverty, called on U.S. authorities to provide solid social protection and address underlying problems, rather than “punishing and imprisoning the poor”.

America’s poor becoming more destitute under Trump: U.N. expert

However, a bit of interesting information is admitted.

However, the data from the U.S. Census Bureau he cited covers only the period through 2016, and he gave no comparative figures for before and after Trump came into office in January 2017.

Trump has been so influential in government that he was making people poor with his policies under President Obama’s administration years before he became president.

That is some serious juju.

  1. Translation: “if Americans won’t adopt socialism, socialism will be forced upon them by the UN.”

  2. How many “poor” Americans or American families:
    – are overweight?
    – own one, or more than one, car per household?
    – subscribe to cable or satellite?
    – have multiple cell phones?
    – have access to emergency health care? (*)
    – etc.

Yes, many Americans live below the rather arbitrarily defined “poverty line,” but many if not most are “poor” in a way unique to pretty much all of human history.

    * I’m not sure if it’s true in all states, but in every state I’ve lived in, a hospital ER can’t turn someone away for lack of ability to pay.

    1. dear god, yes. I hear about and see “poor” people with their $250/month cable bills, complaining about being poor. I was never “poor”, but during the economic downturn in the early 00’s, $250/month would have been make or break for me and the wifie, in terms of keeping the house.

  3. Niel Bortz years ago on his show- 50 percent of US poor own more than 1 CAR, 90 percent have more than 1 TV. 90 percent own microwave oven. Funny how you see “poor” people on the news and they never look hungry…. every high school senoir should be required to spend 5 days in the City of the Dead in Chiro Egypt where the average income is $12 dollars A YEAR .

  4. Yes, it’s true. America has the richest poor people on the planet!

The fact that this bozo Lied hasn’t got him fired. “Write The Narrative and fact checking be damned.”

In fact, his masters likely told him to lie with the latest version from the Ministry of Truth. The People will believe it to be true.

We are all familiar with The Big Lie, but for any newbies out there, I would like to spell it out. It is the basic axiom of propaganda: tell a lie, but make it a Big Lie. Tell it loud enough, and often enough, and it will “become the Truth”.

As Miguel hints at from time to time, this type of propaganda was described in detail in George Orwell’s masterpiece “1984”.

Now you may ask yourselves this question: in many universities, Karl Marx and the Communist Manifesto are required reading for some majors. I doubt that Orwell is also required reading. Why is this the case? … Discuss.

We are still fighting Commies, and they ain’t Russians. I don’t think the average Joe would believe you if you said this.

So, just plant the seed. Show them the parallels. Let them come around slowly.

(Miguel is better at this than I am!

    Good luck!

    1. Of course he wasn’t fired, he works for the UN. The purposes of that organization are (1) antisemitism, (2) support for dictators. Therefore, lies are part of their tool box, not something to object to.
