And the card itself:
Very nice and polite woman addressing the McCloskeys, don’t you think?
“Abolish the summers.”
Abolish: to completely do away with (something)
How is this not a threat? It sure seems like a threat to me.
She was saying “abolish the suburbs”. They are evil and racist and killing the environment, you know, and if everyone were just forced to live crammed into the inner cities, all the crime and poverty would just vanish. Or at least they’d have to suffer from it as well, which is close enough.
I think she was saying “abolish the suburbs.”
Phone auto-correct
Approaches a couple screaming at them
“Don’t come near me!”
I see this a lot, actually.
I enjoyed the replies to that tweet.
One was funny, though, by the person who posted the video: “Trump invited the McCloskeys to speak at the Republican National Convention where Patricia McCloskey stated that protesters “want to abolish the suburbs all together.” They are clearly out of touch with the protesters explicit demands for the mayor to resign.”
That sounds like he/she is pretending that no one says “abolish the suburbs”. Hard to make that argument when it’s recorded about a dozen times right on that video.
It is the same denial of reality that allows anti gun folks to claim “no one is coming for your guns.” with a straight face.
