A buddy sent me this:
So, when the wife and I were house shopping we took a tour of a place that had a beautiful, second story veranda that was the entire length of the front of the house.
I said that if we moved here I’d have to get a new sign for the block.
Instead of “This community is protected by neighborhood watch.”
We’ll need one that says “This community is protected by neighborhood overwatch.”
The realtor said “I don’t get it.”
I looked at her and said “this veranda would make it perfect snipers hide.”
After the house she stopped returning our calls.
I think we might be related.
My wife & I met with a realtor who asked, “What are you looking for in a home?” Before my wife could answer I replied, “Really big, really nice, really cheap and has a secret underground crime fighting lair.”
I got ‘the look’ from both of them.
My wife is a compulsive house-looker, and I always look at potential defensive positions and fields of fire. But I normally only point out “security issues” such as ground-level windows. I keep thoughts like yours to myself, since I don’t like to freak out any Karens. It makes for better domestic relations and keeps the cops away from my door.
Some people are just clueless, and/or they don’t have military training. Or the mindset. Have pity on them, and don’t startle them too much, or they may shriek and go into a coma.
Just sayin’.
After the recent unpleasantness, when I (again) whimsical suggested creating sector cards for Castle McFee, TD W (this time) asked, “front as well as back yards?”
