One of the most famous speeches in American history is FDR’s 1933 Inaugural Address.
The one that entered the prase “only thing we have to fear is…fear itself” into the lexicon.
This was the height of both the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl.
The specter of war was beginning to show in Europe.
And yet, FDR told America not to succumb to “nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror.”
We are now in the middle of a pandemic of a respiratory virus that has a better than 99% survival rate. The President caught the virus and delivered a message of hope.

Trump is nowhere near as eloquent as FDR, but he’s not wrong. We cannot let the fear of COVID crush us and destroy the morale and soul of this country.
This is a message of hope.
The Left doesn’t want us to hope. It wants to put us on a steady diet of fear porn to convince us to vote for them.
Trump is right and they are wrong. It’s important to take the virus seriously, but we cannot allow the fear of the virus to extinguish the light in heart of this nation.
Before rioting/protesting became patriotic again (if it’s against Trump that is), the talking point was that those protesting the lockdowns should be refused any medical treatment.
I heard this on the radio t he is morning, trumps remakrds then smash cut to some commentator giving the most ungenerous interpretation. I was like man if Obama said the same thing they’d be up his ass for his courage and bravery… I mean I know this will happen and expect it but its just getting to be too much.

There’s a technical term from communications and computer security: “security theater”. It means a technical tweak to address a PR concern that is masquerading as an actual security issue. The tweak in question is designed to be harmless, plausible to the ignorant, and less expensive than the PR damage to be addressed.
I’m inclined to take the vaccine when it arrives (a real one, not a communist one whether from China or Russia). If you think there’s no need, that’s your prerogative as a free man just as you may decline vaccines for polio or measles. But in any event, the availability and deployment of a vaccine will serve as “health theater” quite apart from any actual health benefits.
The left can’t abide the possibility of either health theater or actual benefits, which is why they are working so hard to discourage the creation and use of vaccines.
FDR was a fraud as he hid his condition and his dictatorial nature from the American people. I think Trump for all his self aggrandizing is far more concerned with the Republic and it’s people. I fear we may not have another like him for some time.
