“It is a Hanukah miracle to see the delegation from the UAE and Bahrain here with us participating in the Hanukkah candle-lighting ceremony,” he said. “Who would have believed that peace would come to our house in such a magnificent way?”

The video choked me up a little. Arabs lighting the menorah with a smile on their faces, happy to be there? It is a frigging miracle!
Israel has been in conflict with the Arab world all my life, more than that. I still remember as a kid what for many is just today history lessons: from the harassments of the neighbors to the Six Day War and the Yom Kippur war. Sincerely, I believed going to my grave without seeing any progress and recognition of the State of Israel by former “enemies” even if Egypt was the glaring example that it could happen.
Here is to that not only holds but continues.

I guess these visitors weren’t actually official government representatives, but one would suspect they had the approval of the authorities. That would be interesting, because if so it amounts to a tacit recognition of Israeli sovereignty over Old Jerusalem. That’s a much bigger deal still than a Chanukah celebration.
