If there is a Senate trial, Democratic senators will be required to attend. No one knows this better than Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, and he is most certainly prepared to make the most of the opportunity.

Why does this matter?
Answer me this — what do you think that Sens. Warren, Booker and Sanders will do if they are forced to leave the campaign trail to attend an impeachment trial? What do you think their supporters will do?
If you thought the fuss over Hillary’s backstabbing of Sanders in 2016 was nasty, think of what the supporters of these two will do if their candidates are sidelined and unable to campaign. And who would the big winner here be?
Why, none other than the establishment candidate Joe Biden.
Grab a cup of coffee and read. Lots of food for thought. The idea of the Democrats shoot themselves in the collective feet by overreaching with the Impeachment do sounds lovely.

I see some backtracking with some dems suggesting that a censure vote will be enough. I’m not sure, the AOC/Schiff faction will be pushing hard for impeachment. Also, the House Leadership has invested an awful lot of political capital “guaranteeing” that Trump is guilty of everything from the extinction of the dinosaurs to Hunter Biden’s love child . Can they walk that back? I don’t know, but the resulting s**tstorm will be interesting.
Remember that during the Senate Trial President Donald Trump will not be sitting in the dock like a defendant every day of the trial.
He will be barnstorming the country holding rallies every night, ripping into the corrupt Democrats. He can call out the local Congresspeople that voted against him. He can remind everyone that the Democrats are not attending to business, they have not passed USMCA, Immigration Reform, Infrastructure or Drug bills. Highlight they cannot even pass a normal budget, and are still relying on continuing resolutions.
He should get a few of his campaign staff to recreate the highlights of the hearings at each rally as the Republicans impeach and discredit the Democrat witnesses, and repeat the actual facts. That would give him and his voice a break, and get the information out in front of the American public.
And as for Senator Willard Romney? Put Cofer Black, Romney’s National Security Advisor and Burisma Board Member on the witness list. He can tell the American People how hard he and Hunter Biden worked for their millions of dollars.
There is also the slim chance that the Democrats will look into the abyss and see that have achieved NOTHING for impeachment and in fact have made themselves laughing stocks with this charade
Then they might drop it BUT then they are so stupid not to see the moves being made by GOP like Grassley and Graham
pelosi already said “leaving the choice for president up to the American people would be a mistake”. Because America is going to vote for Trump. These idiots have shown their true colors.
