You have to love the karma of a liberal franchise shutting down because the downtrodden they like so much made business impossible. Business upon businesses closed down, possibly forever and prime real state cannot be sold.

Very sad. Clearly, there are homeless people who need medical/psychiatric help. There are also people who “choose” to be homeless (different from being “off the grid”). While I can’t quite get my head around that, they’re not my family.
There was a piece in the Boston Glob some years ago abut a group of people who purposefully encamped in the woods in Boston. They could have gone somewhere else (e.g., shelters, back with family), but they didn’t want to do so.
I’m have no idea how regular folks can be of help to the people who need it.
On Fridays the WSJ has a section about real estate. Last Friday the lead article was about homes in Venice Beach. It discussed at some length the substantial drop in home values and stated it’s due to those homeless camps.
