I cannot imagine that somebody in the chain of production did not stop for a second and thought “You know? Maybe this is not a good visual for the department. Perhaps we should rethink the masked man stuff.”
Yup, not thought out well at all.
Where a Hispanic Catholic, and a Computer Geek write about Gun Rights, Self Defense and whatever else we can think about.

Semi-retired like Vito Corleone before the heart attack. Consiglieri to J.Kb and AWA. I lived in a Gun Control Paradise: It sucked and got people killed. I do believe that Freedom scares the political elites.

I’ve already seen one edit changing it to the United Airlines Department of Re-allocation and Dress enforcment.
I’m not sure exactly what they were thinking. That looks more like the picture a police force in a failed state/dictatorship puts out, with the balaclavas. Though America is probably heading that way regardless, so maybe it will be the new norm.
“I have been criticized by referring to our federal masked men as ‘ninja’ … Let us reflect upon the fact that a man who covers his face shows reason to be ashamed of what he is doing. A man who takes it upon himself to shed blood while concealing his identity is a revolting perversion of the warrior ethic. It has long been my conviction that a masked man with a gun is a target. I see no reason to change that view.” –Col. Jeff Cooper
There may be valid reasons to cover ones face during an action – dust, debris, smoke, gases – and I am certain Col. Cooper wouldn’t object to that sort of thing. But there is no good reason, at all, for covering your face in a news conference.
I never had a job where I wanted to hide my face.
I hope I never do.
