Man Shot And Killed Near George Floyd Square In Minneapolis
Authorities say a man was shot and killed near the Minneapolis intersection known as George Floyd Square, where Floyd died in police custody last May.
Police received reports about 5:45 p.m. Saturday that two people had been shot and were being brought to the barricades at the entrance to the area. Police say the victim was gone by the time officers arrived.
Police later learned that the victim had been taken to a hospital, where he died. A second person was not located. The Star Tribune reports that police were met with “some interference” when they responded to the scene, but a department spokesman did not elaborate.
Some interference?
Interference like this, perhaps?
The George Floyd memorial is an "autonomous zone" with several blocks controlled by activists. Police don't even go in. We tried to respectfully get video-but left after two people confronted us near the barricades.
Later learned many protestors don't even feel comfortable there. pic.twitter.com/5w32fxQ0hR— Brian Entin (@BrianEntin) March 10, 2021
These two masked individuals are openly threatening a reporter in public during daylight hours on a city street.
I suspect the police were treated similarly but due to the situation of the Derek Chauvin trial beginning, they were inclined (if not ordered) to let it slide.
Radical activists create an “autonomous zone” and name it after a criminal, inside of it a person is murdered and the activists patrol it like third-world warlords.
Did anyone expect anything different?
The only real question is why do cities continue to cede zones like this to thugs when everyone knows what happens in them?
I think we should help out these autonomous zones. You know, make them really autonomous (as in cut them off). Sucks for the unwilling folks trapped in them, though.
