People are openly ROBBING businesses in California.
Thanks to Prop 47, offenders who commit crimes like this will only receive a citation.

Prop 47 includes citations for Shoplifting, where the value of property stolen does not exceed $950. No jail time because it is not “human” according to those who pushed the initiative and Californians bought it line, hook and sinker.
The same city, county and state that allows a business to be ransacked like that, is expecting for said business to pay taxes and fees promptly or else get a nasty jail sentence for failing to add to the public coffers, the same public who voted to allow criminals to bankrupt him/her.
I remember reading one solution — an unlikely but funny solution. First, raise all prices of everything in the store to $1001+, but allow customers to sign up for a loyalty program which gives them a $1000 discount (or whatever) upon checkout if they have a member number. Then when you call the cops they are forced to stop the crime because it’s above the threshold limit.
It may take creative solutions like this, because I’ve heard stories of even security guards getting arrested for stopping criminals from behaving badly. It’s horrible in CA.

They were stupid enough to vote for corrupt DemonKKKrats for decades, and are still doing it, so this is fully on them.
This crap is starting in my city because of the “kinder/gentler” administration. Store employees are not allowed to even approach the shoplifters. The excuse for this is the if the shoplifters attack the employee, the employer could be held liable for any injuries. And,,, the municipality is just looking out for the business.
Stores should keep accurate records of total cost for the year on whats stolen, then take it off their tax bill. Or pack up and move to friendlier states.
