I’m thinking of a mental health worker sort of like Liberty Doll. I don’t care what sort of training she has, she’s not going to have much of a chance against a guy built like that who decides that he would rather do evil than be “talked down”
One of the the many tragedies of mental illness is that those that suffer from it often act in an irrational manner. They can seem to be perfectly rational one minute and totally irrational the next. If an irrational individual is determined to harm others, no amount of “talking them down” will prevent blood letting. In that circumstance society or our surrogates have no option but to apply force, up to and including deadly force, to prevent loss of life.
