Associate of mine classifies himself as a ‘radical leftist’ and runs a film company. Moved his company out of the deep blue city they were in because taxes, licensing, etc made it too expensive to operate there. They moved it to a red-ish suburb w/ lower taxes.
When the Screen Actors Guild tightened their rules on union members working w/ non-union, same individuals were all upset because a good number of their people were not union since they only acted now and again and didn’t meet union requirements. They at least recognized the conflict of supporting mandatory unions and the unions working in the best interests of themselves and not the actors.
They all think they’ll be selling their crap on Etsy and producing whatever they want. In reality, they’ll only be allowed to create what the state tells them to, if they’re not digging ditches for the good of the community.
Conversations about this kind of thing happen regularly in my house. The question asked is always “Why would anyone push for this __________?” fill in the blank with whatever leftists, DIE, LGBTQWERTY stuff you want.

The answer is always, the people pushing it think they will be the ones enjoying the good life. They will be the ones living in luxury in the Capital when the 12 districts slave away for them. When you see the 3rd world hell holes, there is always some walled in luxury community with mansions, pools, and servants. In their world, they will be the ones living in those communities, not the ones living in the tin shacks outside the walls.

What the people pushing leftist crap do not seem to understand is they “party” does not want them. They are useless after the Party takes full control. The number of humanities professors that the party needs is zero.

As soon as the all powerful State manages to get rid of guns in the population at large, dismiss marriage and family as antiquated relics, and cut off access to food, fuel, and water, they will dispose of the useful idiots. When it becomes a matter of eat, or push transgenderism, I am guessing eating will win out.
