I am sadden by the “Karen-ess” among public servants.

How petty of an asshole you have to be to remove the sand from the beach and pour it an a skating park. Waste of taxpayer’s’ money all around.
And for the record, you could have achieved the same idea by spreading several bags of cheap gravel from Home Depot.

And we also include the Media.

Miserable fucks, the lot of them.

  1. Too many places ruled by the likes of Gretched Halfwhit and Darth Noisome.
I skimmed the applicable Tennessee executive order, and found this under the list of “essential activities”:
“Engaging in outdoor activity, provided that persons the Health Guidelines to
the greatest extent practicable, including, but not limited to, driving or riding
in a vehicle, walking, hiking, running, biking, swimming, kayaking, canoeing,
golf, tennis, or other sports or recreational activities that can be performed
while maintaining the aforementioned precautions or utilizing public parks and
outdoor recreation areas; provided, however, that congregating or playing on
playgrounds presents a unique risk for the spread of COVID-19 and is
therefore not covered as an Essential Activity”
So, playgrounds here are closed, but fields, trails, lakes, and such are open for playtime. Much more sensible. (Hm. There seems to a verb missing in that EO paragraph, but whatever.)

  2. Can we torch it off now? Was this such a threat to public health that it was worth the resources to do that?

  3. WRT the skatepark – you’d think some antifa skate boarders would be out there giving the equipment operator an portland style beat down. Not like they have issues with wearing masks.

  4. Re: the article about people failing to follow social distancing on the Florida beach – I read an editorial recently from a guy living in NYC who basically suggested the decision to get back to normal is mostly in the hands of the people. He noted how vehicle and pedestrian traffic was increasing each day where he lives (Brooklyn) and that the longer this drags on, the harder it’s going to be to control the the movement of people. I think he’s onto something.

This said, expect the media to ramp things up even more as stuff begins to reopen. Any deaths will be regarded as Trump/GOP disregard for suffering and human life. Democrat Governors will continue to inflate their death numbers to make Trump look bad and try to get more Federal relief funding, biting the hand that feeds them.

  5. Every one of those ‘open up’ orders needs to include an exception for being close to those with whom you share a domicile. If I’m swapping slobber with someone it makes zero sense to make me keep 6 ft away from them just because we’re in public.
There needs to be a painful, immediate and personal limit to political stupidity.
