Declare the NRA a terrorist organization and make membership illegal. Hey! We did it to the Communist Party, and the NRA has led to the deaths of more of us than American Commies ever did. (I would also raze the organization’s headquarters, clear the rubble and salt the earth, but that’s optional.) Make ownership of unlicensed assault rifles a felony. If some people refused to give up their guns, that “prying the guns from their cold, dead hands” thing works for me.

I understand that Donald Kaul, the writer of this piece might have been under the influence when he penned it. But I would like to know what was the mental state of the editors at The Des Moines Register when they decided to publish it.

And no, I don’t think Mr Kaul was kidding, he is not the first idiot demanding the NRA and its members to be treated as terrorists. Do remember that once you grab the tiger by the tail, you still have to deal with the rest of the animal.

  1. We never outlawed the American Communist Party (remember that pesky 1st Amendment?), though we did require communist organizations to register and prosecuted members that spied for the USSR.
Somehow, I’m sure that Kaul would oppose implementing his “agenda” against the CPUSA, the Socialist Party of America, CAIR or even NAMBLA.

    1. They’ve certainly done more harm to the US and gotten more Americans killed than the NRA ever will.

I’d like to see his statistics on “damage done by the NRA.”

  2. t I would like to know what was the mental state of the editors at The Des Moines Register when they decided to publish it.

They will publish anything that is anti-gun. I have made the offer to the editorial board to give them a safety class and a range trip to fire a variety of weapons. All at my expense. I have never gotten a response.

    1. They have graduated to advocating the destruction of the First Amendment, and killing people they disagree with politically. Glad I canceled that trashcan liner a long time ago.

  3. Make ownership of unlicensed assault rifles a felony.

Isn’t it already? We have to go through a ton of background checks and registrations when buying firearms, last time I bought one.

If some people refused to give up their guns, that “prying the guns from their cold, dead hands” thing works for me.

Again with the “join my vision of peace, where all are equal if I say they are….but I’ll kill anyone who doesn’t share my idea of peace!” Ironic.

  4. Yep, the American Communist party is still around, as well as various offshoots. So there’s that.

And then communists in general, he needs to google “Mao” and “Stalin” and give their wikipedia pages some quick reads, if he doesn’t want to look up the various documentaries about their extensive body counts.

    http://mcthag.blogspot.com/2012/12/of-res.html

McThag did some numbers for the National Socialist party of Germany (They had a cool Acronym) and found it would take 1.2 Million years of our current US Gun Murder rate to equal their body count. I suspect it would be about 2 Million for the hardcore Marxist parties which consider the Holocaust a bush league national purge!

    So there’s that!

  5. I would like to see his sources on how the NRA “has led to more deaths of us than the Commies ever did.” I suspect it’s a load of bull.

That or his “us” is burglers, murderers, and rapists, in which case how is that a bad thing?

  6. *facepalm* I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. These people are so stupid, so brain function terminal that they need IMPS to tell them how to breathe! One to tell them to breathe in, one to tell them to breathe out.

  7. This wacko is yet further proof that liberalism is a mental disorder. Hysteria like this is definitive of his mental pathology. He should be heavily medicated in a sanitarium somewhere. His facts are pure fancy and he, like 99.9% of the gun grabbing liberals in this country, don’t even know what an “assault rifle” is. By definition, an assault rifle must be SELECT FIRE. What they call “assault rifles” are nothing more than semi-automatic rifles chambered in 5,56mm NATO or 7.62 x 39mm with detachable magazines. PERIOD.

What this looney tunes wants to do is essentially wage war on the NRA, How very Hitlerian and Stalinst of him. Hitler also disarmed the German populace too right after he took power. Perhaps he would be amenable to arresting all NRA members as terrorists and sending them to a gulag designed just for the purpose.

Not only are people like him a sincere threat to our Second Amendment, they present a clear and present danger to ALL of our freedoms.

  8. If Donald has such a problem with the 2nd ammendment and understanding it’s purpose, he’s certainly free to leave the country which give’s him the right to speak his vile hatred.

  9. I invite Mr Kaul and any of his Followers to attempt what he stated in his article, I have been an NRA member and am a Republican…come on down…I’ll be waiting for you…

  10. Bring it on.
Better yet, how about a one way ticket to anywhere outside our country?
IF you really believe this, please send your address so we can post one of your favorite signs : GUN FREE ZONE in your front yard.
I do hope you find yourself in a situation where you need a gun and don’t have one…sooner the better.
You could do your homework on the subject, look up The Dick Act.

  11. Another waste of flesh.Too bad abortion wasn’t legal when he was concieved. Notice they always blame the NRA instead of weak judges, lame laws, etc? I had to take a safety class approved by the NRA in ’68 before I could get my hunting licence you jack-off. Does he honestly think the war wagon will stop when they pass this shit law? Yeah right, and we have all seen what happens when the dis-armed face the armed, including Sandy Hook.

  12. You know, it would be sad to read about some packin’ meth head, ebt card carryin’ pos kick’s in his front door to steal his flat screen and he had no way of defending hisself….

  13. It belongs to Gannett, same as the paper in New York that printing the names and addresses of permit holders

  14. On the subject of Kaul’s tirade, I thought I Might point out that the owner of this paper, The Des Moines Register, is Gannett. Gannett is also owner of the Journal News, the paper publishing permit holders names and addresses in New York. Here is Wiki’s rundown on Gannett’s holdings:

“Gannett Company, Inc.[pronunciation?] is a publicly traded media holding company headquartered in Tysons Corner, Virginia, near McLean.[2][3] It is the largest U.S. newspaper publisher as measured by total daily circulation. Its assets include the national newspaper USA Today and the weekly USA Weekend. Its largest non-national newspaper is The Arizona Republic in Phoenix, Arizona. Other significant newspapers include The Indianapolis Star, The Cincinnati Enquirer, The Tennessean in Nashville, Tennessee, The Courier-Journal in Louisville, Kentucky, the Democrat and Chronicle in Rochester, NY, The Des Moines Register, the Detroit Free Press and The News-Press in Fort Myers. Gannett owns 23 television stations through Gannett Broadcasting Inc.[4] and is the largest group owner of NBC-affiliated stations.[5] Gannett also holds substantial properties in digital media including PointRoll, BNQT Media Group,[6] Planet Discover,[7] Ripple6[8] and ShopLocal through Gannett Digital.”

I suggest it is time that we take action against Gannett, in the way the will feel the most. We need to inform their advertisers that, so long as they do business with Gannett, or any other media source that follows such anti-Constitutional policies, we will not buy their products.

  15. Mr. Kaul,
    Mr. Kaul,
did it ever occur to you without gun rights, you wouldn’t have the freedom of speech you spit out of that ignorant mouth of yours? get a life moron!

  16. Just how would Mr. Kaul propose to “Pry our guns from our cold, dead fingers”? I would assume that would have to be done at gunpoint. Of course he lacks the intelligence to see the irony and obvious contradictions contained within the concept. His other course of action would be to drag republicans around behind a pickup truck. I really do hope he attempts these things. I would be willing to arrange a convenient time for him to come to my home and try to persuade me to change my mind on these matters.

    1. They all have the same thing in common: They think somebody else is gonna do the dirty work for them as in Cops and Military.
Boy are they going to be surprised!

  17. I believe I’m am correct but not positive, but isn’t threatening a government official a federal crime? Punishable by up to 5 years in prison? Pretty sure he should be sitting in jail instead of spewing this diarrhea from his mouth.
