Chicagotribune.com…. Layers and Layers of Editorial Oversight

The lawyer for acquitted killer George Zimmerman said the rules for Florida murder trials should be changed so jurors are only instructed to consider the lenient standards of the state’s “stand your ground” self-defense law when a case merits it.

I “love” the way it sounds, like GZ got to walk on a technicality instead of being found not guilty by a jury.

I swear if Jesus was found not to be a card-carrying member of the ACLU and donated to Mayor Rahm’s campaign,  “journalists”  like Barbara Liston would wholeheartedly agree with His execution and might even suggest that crucifixion was too lenient.

Some days you just want to give up… but then you realize those “journalists” live in Chicago and have to deal with the mess they helped create…. and you get to smile.

But her death was “safer” because she had no guns at home.

Minutes before her boyfriend allegedly hacked her to death with a machete Monday morning, Horacia Simeus was on the phone with the state attorney’s victim advocate. The woman on the other end was discussing a new restraining order Simeus was attempting to file against her abusive boyfriend, Youvens Madeus

Jesus Jumping Frogs, if even little kids know that scissors beat paper, what do people expect against a machete?

This one bloody shirt Shannon Watts won’t be waving.

Just a couple of punches, no harm.

Video of a cop trying to arrest a very drunk & very belligerent firefighter that did not end well.

It kinda reminds you of another case, doesn’t it?

Just like that went from stupid drunk to dead. No matter how much tequila you may had, you ain’t bulletproof.
According to PINAC:

A citizen video showing a struggle between a Kansas City cop and an off-duty firefighter in which the firefighter flips the cop on his back and punches him repeatedly in the face before the cop pulls out a gun and kills him, was released this week after a grand jury declined to indict the officer.

Thanks to the video, we can see it was the right decision made by the grand jury, especially when we learn of what led up to the struggle, which was essentially that the firefighter, Anthony Bruno, had been drinking and had gotten into an argument with a cab driver over the fare. The cab driver threw the fare into his wife’s face, so Bruno punched him several times before storming off.

The cop, Donald Hubbard, who was in uniform working security at a hotel, witnessed this exchange and ran after the firefighter to arrest him, which is when the struggle ensued as well as when another man pulled out a camera and began video recording.

Not knowing the background, the man is being critical of the officer, which is why he is video recording. His female companion says she wants to intervene, but he tells her not to, which is a wise decision because that could have easily gotten her shot or at least charged with interfering.

At one point, the cop looks towards the witnesses and asks them for help. Seconds later, the firefighter flips him on his back and starts punching him in the face. And seconds after that, the cop pulls out a gun and fires twice, ending the struggle.”

I was not expecting the punches on that particular way and I winced at the images: I don’t care what some say, that has to hurt and produce damage.

I will reserve my comments about the “journalists.”

Actually, you can tell the difference.

Iraq:
Area: 435,052 km2  (169,234 sq mi)
Population: 36,004,552
Deaths in 2013 (Deadliest year since 2008): 7,000+

Venezuela:
Area: 916,445 km2 (353,841 sq mi)
Population: 28,946,101
Homicides in 2013 (up to Dec 26): 24,763

So Iraq, a country that has sectarianism and terrorism allegedly running wild made worse by the evil hand of the Imperialistic United States has less than 1/3 the killings of a peaceful, democratically elected Neo-Communist Government which has banned the possession of evil guns from the hands of its citizens and has imposed draconian Gun Control laws.

Oh yes! Gun Control works wonderfully.

Violence Policy Center: Preaching about Unicorns… but reality bites.

ZOMG! Women with Guns are NOT safe!

VPC women guns in home

I am sure this woman would have been better served by not having a gun in her house.

And then, Detroit Police Chief said: “She did the right thing.”

They are their own worst enemy…. I can live with that.

That immense sucking sound you hear is The Violence Policy Center maelstrom into irrelevance. Angels singing if you ask me.

Why a rifle?

My experience is mostly with handguns so I pretty much restrain myself to comment about that. I have an Evil Black Rifle of the Romanian persuasion and I can shoot it decently but nothing that will guarantee me a spot in any episode of Top Shot.

But alongside with the handgun and a shotgun, a rifle is a must in anybody’s home. The ability to accurately deliver a shot a great distances makes it a very intimidating force multiplier when dealing with goons and unchecked mobs.

The Tupamaros are the irregular civilian force created by Hugo Chavez. They are used as terror troops a la Cossack that go pillaging and terrorizing people with the open protection of the Government. They are mostly armed with handguns but some have been seen with sub-machine, PDWs guns and an occasional AK-type rifle, but very rare.

In the video you can see them inside an apartment building complex (private property) breaking into cars, setting them on fire and you can also hear them popping shots for the hell of it and all unchallenged (Ahh! the beauty of a Gun Free Country!) and without fear of retribution.

From the point of view of the camera, that is not a challenging shot for a rifle and somebody with a basic knowledge of its operation. Even the “lowly” lever-action in 30-30 is enough to deliver a lesson on manners and respect for human life and private property.

Keeping and/or eliminating problems as far away from your home is always a good rule of trigger finger 😀
