I was watching (again) Running Scared and I saw Billy Crystal holding this cute little gun that made me drool:

400px-S&W_Model_19

Smith and Wesson Model 19, 2 inch barrel in .38 Special/.357 Magnum. That is a darn purty gun and in a caliber I like.

So I logged in Gunbroker.com just to find out that I have to shed over $1K to get one. As my wife is fond of saying “Dear, you have the good taste, just not the budget for it.”

And I don’t care what you say, Running Scared is hilarious.

Danny Costanzo: [Walking out of the Bar] What the hell are we doing in Key West?
Ray Hughes: Its as far south as we can go without having to speak Spanish

  1. The uber-rare 3″ barrel variants of the Model 19 and 66 have better lines. The extra half-inch of barrel length also allows them to have a full-length ejector rod.

    1. S&W is also starting to remake the 66 or a version of it this year for less than 1k though not much less if I remember right…

  2. That’s more than I paid for my S&W 686+ but less than I’m looking at shelling out for the FN Five-seveN that I want.

On the other hand, I don’t have a wife to tell me not to buy things. 😀

  3. “Oh noooo, he missed a Bible question because he didn’t know what ‘Deuteronomy’ was…”

Aside from the rather silly final battle scene, Running Scared is *brilliant* moviemaking.
