Carjacking was stopped by the driver of the truck, Jonathan Adam Lecompte. Then the carjacker got in the truck and proceeded to use it as weapon. I have no idea if those are shot or what Lecompte was using for ammo if that was indeed a gun.
But the truck was a bigger caliber.

Looked like a pistol to me. I’m guessing that he didn’t feel that the stealing of his truck constituted a deadly threat.
Unfortunately, it became one for him and the other guy.

Depends on the State. He probably didn’t want to get prosecuted if he plugged the guy..
Why in the hell did he stand in the middle of the road like a dummy??? Sigh…

Whatever this is does not make any sense. That may be due to the video starting well after the initiating event – whatever it was – but Yellow Vest seemingly takes no action to prevent Person X from opening the truck door, then fires 4 rounds at Person X at close range to no apparent effect then turns his back on the person at whom he shot, and calmly walks away.
No info on why Yellow Vest was there, who / what Person X is, what relationship or involvement exists between YV and PX or why or how the event transpired from the outset.
I’d guess (some of) the lessons here are 1) don’t do stupid stuff that precipitates such an event. 2) lock your car doors; 3) carry enough gun in case you ever have to use it and 4) TRAIN WITH THE $@&% GUN
If anyone at GFZ follows up on this – which is probably not possible – it would be interesting to get the missing details.
