  1. Wow, that’s evil.
To do such a thing sensibly would require printing two ballots — one for aliens and one for citizens. I suspect the plan is NOT to do that, so aliens end up voting in US elections.
The interesting thing is that such a decision would actually be legal, since the Constitution says that electors in Federal elections “shall have the qualifications of Electors of the most numerous branch of the state legislature”. So if NY were to allow aliens to vote in state House elections, they would thereby also be entitled to vote for US Congress and President.
If such a thing were to happen, chances are a Constitutional amendment would appear to limit voting to citizens. In my view, there should be such an amendment and it should apply to voting for any elective office at any level, down to selectman and cemetery trustee.

I just noticed: “green card holders or have the right to work” by current left standards means any illegal alien, since those are permitted to work by left wing executive orders like DACA.

    1. Not the way the Constitution reads today.

The left hasn’t figured this out yet, but read again what I said above: they can definitely do this and they can apply it to Federal elections under the letter of the Constitution. And while Congress has authority to regulate the “Time, Place, and Manner” of Federal elections, it has no Constitutional authority over who each state authorizes to be electors (other than what’s required by the 19th, 24th, and 26th amendments). For example, property qualifications have been abandoned long ago, but there’s nothing in the Constitution that forbids them and any state that wanted to could put them back into effect.

Only one rule: Don't be a dick.
