I love the old Disney live action movies.

It’s been fun introducing my son to the original 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Swiss Family Robinson, etc.

My favorite live action Disney movie is from 1991.

The Rocketeer.

What a great movie.  Just fun action-adventure combined with a 21-year-old Jennifer Connolly.

Supposedly, Disney  is going to rape that franchise to death.

There is in the works a “reboot sequel” in which Cliff Secord (the original Rocketeer) goes to fight in WWII, disappears in Nazi territory and in 1950 his rocket pack falls into the hands of a new Rocketeer, who is a black woman and former Tuskegee Airman.

While I honor the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen, there were no women Tuskegee Airmen and no women combat aviators until 1993.

So Disney is going to race and gender swap a reboot, in full social justice mode, my favorite Disney movie from when I was a kid.

And I can guarantee Cliff Secord won’t be dead.  The big twist will be he hot captured by the Nazis and sided with them.

Fuck Disney to death.  I hope DeSantis bulldozes their theme park and turns it into public housing.

This case is fucking horrific.

New Mexico police fatally shoot man during investigation at wrong home: reports

A New Mexico man was shot and killed by police who mistakenly knocked on his door to investigate a domestic violence incident, according to reports.

Three officers from the Farmington Police Department in northern New Mexico knocked at Robert Dotson’s door at 5305 Valley View Ave earlier this month, even though they questioned dispatchers as to whether they were at the correct address, news outlets and body-camera footage released by the department shows.

Dotson answered the door with a gun in hand, pointing it at the cops — who immediately opened fire, killing him.

It’s dark o’clock.

They know but their announcement “Farmington Police” wasn’t all that loud.  I doubt loud enough to be heard from a back bedroom.

They instantly open fire on the man who opened the door.

Now from the perspective of the homeowner, he just got woken up at dark o’clock. From the video, it didn’t look like there were any flashing lights of police cars.

Someone is at his door at an ungodly hour.

He’s gonna take his pistol and see what’s going on.

Completely understandable, until the cops murder him.

As Miguel routinely posts about, the real problem came about when he broke his perimeter.

Don’t open the door.

Yell through the door or use a smart doorbell or anything else that keeps the solid object of the door between yourself and the possible threat on the other side.

Normally when Miguel covers this topic, it’s on regards to criminals.

Here it’s equally good in relation to stupid and negligent police, who are too fucking dumb to respond to the right house.

Stay behind your perimeter where it’s safer.

It will increase your chances of survival.

The origin of the pitbull was as a bull baiting breed, a dog literally bred to fight bulls by biting their faces.

Any farmer who owns livestock should absolutely have the right to shoot a pitbull that comes onto their property.

The most shocking thing about this post was the lack of shooting, you be honest.

Most farmers that I know have a ready access rifle for livestock defense.

If there is a lesson to be learned here, you need a ready access rifle in your arsenal.

Since I’m in a rental, I can’t put a gun safe upstairs.  Once I buy a home, I’m going to reassess my home defense gun situation.

I’ve been thinking about AWAs rifle situation and I think an AR in 350 Legend will be my top choice.

The power of a 30-30 but in a semiautomatic package with a 20 round mag (the straight wall doesn’t like the 30 round curve).  I’ll probably outfit it with a variable 1-6x optic.

Should be perfect for anything up to 200 lbs of bull baiting dog.

MMA fighter, 23, ‘kills Florida Air Force soldier, 31, with one punch during Panama City Beach bar fight’

An amateur MMA fighter was arrested after he allegedly punched an Air Force soldier behind the ear in a Florida bar brawl – killing him.

Ross Johnson, 23, was running to help his friend in a fight outside of the Coyote Ugly Saloon in Panama City Beach on Sunday when he punched 31-year-old Dayvon Larry – causing him to collapse, police said.

Johnson, who has three years of ‘advanced fighter training’, didn’t attempt to get help for Larry and instead supposedly told a witness, ‘I think I killed him.’

Johnson has three wins and two losses on his MMA record. The victim’s autopsy showed he had a skull fracture and a bruise the size of a ‘softball’ behind his ear.

Police allege Johnson only hit Larry once before fleeing the scene by using a ride share service. 

The solider was pronounced dead at a local hospital after paramedics failed to revive him through life-saving measures outside of the bar.

One punch behind the ear.

Bleeding low and at the back of the brain puts pressure on the cerebellum and brain stem and causes death.

Murdered by a cheap sucker punch to the side-back of the head.

Just because someone is unarmed doesn’t mean they can’t kill you.

Scene:

A blue collar, hard work job, a construction site or a foundry, something dirty and tough.

The foreman is speaking to the workers saying they have a to get a lot done in a time crunch and it’s going to be a big job and some long hours but he knows they’ll get it done.

The camera focuses on the face of a young woman, standing in with all the men.  She’s a solid head shorter than the rest of them.  She looks unsure of herself.

They are working, hard.  Nobody is being mean to her, nobody is discriminating against her.  She is clearly giving it her all to keep up. She stumbles a few times, but picks her self up and keeps trucking.

Day ends, foreman announces that they accomplished their task.

Crew goes to a bar after work.

The young woman shows up.

All the other guys are there drinking Bud Lights.

The foreman beckons her over to an empty seat, she sits down, the foreman passes her a Bud Light.

Says to her “you did a good job out there today, you earned this.”

All smiles.
