Dear American liberals, leftists, social progressives, socialists, Marxists and Obama supporters, et al: We have stuck together since the late 1950’s for the sake of the kids, but the whole of this latest election process has made me realize that I want a divorce. I know we tolerated each other for many years for the sake of future generations, but sadly, this relationship has clearly run its course.
Our two ideological sides of America cannot and will not ever agree on what is right for us all, so let’s just end it on friendly terms. We can smile and chalk it up to irreconcilable differences and go our own way.
Here is a our separation agreement:
––Our two groups can equitably divide up the country by landmass each taking a similar portion. That will be the difficult part, but I am sure our two sides can come to a friendly agreement. After that, it should be relatively easy! Our respective representatives can effortlessly divide other assets since both sides have such distinct and disparate tastes.
––We don’t like redistributive taxes so you can keep them.
––You are welcome to the liberal judges and the ACLU.
––Since you hate guns and war, we’ll take our firearms, the cops, the NRA and the military.
––We’ll take the nasty, smelly oil industry and the coal mines, and you can go with wind, solar and biodiesel.
––You can keep Oprah, Michael Moore and Rosie O’Donnell. You are, however, responsible for finding a bio-diesel vehicle big enough to move all three of them.
––We’ll keep capitalism, greedy corporations, pharmaceutical companies, Wal-Mart and Wall Street.
––You can have your beloved lifelong welfare dwellers, food stamps, homeless, homeboys, hippies, druggies and illegal aliens.
––We’ll keep the hot Alaskan hockey moms, greedy CEO’s and rednecks.
––We’ll keep Bill O’Reilly, and Bibles and give you NBC and Hollywood .
––You can make nice with Iran and Palestine and we’ll retain the right to invade and hammer places that threaten us.
––You can have the peaceniks and war protesters. When our allies or our way of life are under assault, we’ll help provide them security.
––We’ll keep our Judeo-Christian values.
––You are welcome to Islam, Scientology, Humanism, political correctness and Shirley McClain. You can also have the U.N. but we will no longer be paying the bill.
––We’ll keep the SUV’s, pickup trucks and oversized luxury cars. You can take every Volt and Leaf you can find.
––You can give everyone healthcare if you can find any practicing doctors.
––We’ll continue to believe healthcare is a luxury and not a right.
––We’ll keep “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” and “The National Anthem.”
––I’m sure you’ll be happy to substitute “Imagine”, “I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing”, “Kum Ba Ya” or “We Are the World”.
––We’ll practice trickle-down economics and you can continue to give trickle up poverty your best shot.
––Since it often so offends you, we’ll keep our history, our name and our flag.

I think the point is that the ACLU really only stands for the 1st and sometimes 4th and 5th Amendments, while we have organizations for the others: NRA, 2AF, 10AF, Oath Keepers, just to name a few.

Really? I’m pretty sure it doesn’t work that way… at all. Even putting aside the issue of the Electoral College, voting for Obama is the only way to vote for Obama. If I vote for a 3rd party candidate, I’ve voted for them, not Obama. Who says that I should vote for Romney instead of simply staying home?
The fault here is not those of us that didn’t vote for Romney, it was in the Republican Party purposefully throwing another election by putting up a weak, unelectable candidate and running a pathetic campaign on “social issues” (abortion, religion, etc.) rather than focusing on the economy, freedom, the Constitution, and other truly important things for our country. Listening to the two of them (Romney and Obama) “debate” was like listening to a Democrat party primary. Where was the true disagreement? Where were the party principles, or any principles for that matter? No real discussion on national debt, unfunded liabilities and “entitlements,” no open and honest talk about spending, the Federal Reserve, inflation, or foreign policy; nothing but hollow words and empty promises. Next time, instead of strong-arming in their appointed candidate, how about they follow their own party rules and let the people decide who the candidate should be? And instead of blaming people for not voting for Romney, give them a candidate that excites them and makes them want to vote.

Oh, and before someone tries to convince me of the myth of Romney’s “plan,” think about whether he actually had one. Besides “ending loopholes,” which is an effective tax increase on most people, did he actually promise anything?
Well, he promised to create jobs, right? Wrong! Governments don’t create jobs, at least not good jobs. All gov’t jobs are funded from tax money, meaning that the more gov’t jobs there are the more money they’ve had to take out of circulation without any need to justify it. How often do we complain about the post, the DMV [or whatever your state calls its motor vehicle arm], the road construction guys and others for doing a terrible job? Just remember that you voted for Romney/Obama to make more jobs for those people and that you still write their paycheck… only you let everyone else determine how much of your money they’ll take from you at gunpoint.
Quick observation before we devolve further into a 9mm v 45 ACP type argument, I want to shoot two hard truths.
1-The GOP once again ignored the Conservative base and forced a good man but not a conservative one to run for President. That lead to disenchantment and low voter turnout in certain cases. They also failed to recognize that there are Hispanics that are not Mexican and failed to attract them to the party once more.
2-Libertarians behaved like spoiled brats. It is time to recognize that Libertarians are not guided by the principles of Ayn Rand (She hated Libertarians) but in reality they have no set principles and are dogmatic as shit. That is the reason they were begging for a 5% to get their hands in federal funding (contradictory) and barely got 1%.
So basically both parties fucked up and both need to reassess strategies and core values.

But, then again, I guess I’m being “dogmatic as shit” by pointing out that you’re wrong… or that we “behaved like spoiled brats” when the GOP broke its own rules to elect Romney. Next time, would it be better if we just kept quiet and let the GOP give us whatever candidate they choose or should we actually be allowed by to participate like normal people?

What the hell? Since when? I mean, sure, I could argue that my 10mm at the proper loading is close to a .41 magnum, or a .357 Sig is close to a .357 magnum, but let’s not forget that 9mm Parabellum and .45 Auto are both a century old, whereas the .357, .41, and .44 magna* are all younger by several decades each.
*Magna is the Latin plural of magnum, just as data is the plural of datum
