LAUDERHILL, FLA. (WSVN) – Police are investigating a home invasion that, they said, left a masked gunman dead after exchanging gunfire with the homeowner.
Lauderhill Police responded to a 911 call along the 4400 block of Northwest 16th Street, just after midnight, Saturday.
Detectives learned that the gunman walked through an unlocked front door and exchanged gunfire with the homeowner, who left the property and made the call to police.
When officers arrived, they found the subject dead inside the home.
As of Saturday night, no charges have been filed.

Just imagine: You are in your most sacred home with your family, somebody breaks in using deadly force. You return the force and your “reward” is 25 or more years in prison.
Democrat Representative Dotie Joseph thinks your home is not sacred and your life and the life of your loved ones has no value.

Looks like a fox that just found out the chicken coop gate was left open. If I saw that look from any number of wild animals, I would assume an attack was imminent.
If I was playing poker against her, and I saw that look, I would fold instantly.
Actually, I would not be surprised if one of her staff were asked to find the FL stand your ground statute. They did a google search, and got 776.013 as the first hit had the words “stand your ground” in the first paragraph. Of course, that must be the infamous stand your ground law that allows people to kill with impunity. Have to repeal it.
Whereas, FS776.012 is the stand your ground law, but that phrase does not show up until much further down the text. Obviously, this is a hastily crafted bill designed to destroy stand your ground.

I checked out the various subcommittee members involved in the passing of this bill (HB 6049). I wouldn’t bet the rent on its passage. So I think we can calm down for now.
