April 2024 marked the fifty-seventh consecutive month of more than one million National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) checks for gun sales or transfers.

The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) took the FBI data and ascertained that more than 1.2 million NICS checks were for gun sales/transfers.
That is about 57 million firearms added to the hands of the Citizens.

I am sure this is the cause of much hand wringing and pearl clutching among the usual suspects. I wonder what percentage are minorities and women causing them more heartburn.
Doesn’t matter what they actual percentage is, they will continue to pretend that number is zero. How else can they continue to justify their stupid penis jokes and other bigotry?
But, it is a smaller number of gun owners buying more and more guns. Just ask the gun control folks.

In other words, there is no statistic that they will not distort to support their delusion.
And that doesn’t count all of us who don’t have to have that check run to buy a gun.
However, it does count all the NICS checks performed for other reasons, say getting a CCWP or a silencer.

Then again, you can purchase several guns with a single NICS check. Which happens enough (likely) to offset the non-gun purchase NICS checks.
