That would be comical. The standard reaction would be for the state to sue. The better answer would be for the state to disregard such action, since it’s unconstitutional and therefore has no legal existence. It isn’t necessary to sue first to get the courts to agree with that; the executive can and should simply assert the fact and proceed accordingly.
The same goes, incidentally, for actions like the “Covid relief law” prohibiting states lowering state taxes. Some states are suing — foolish of them, they should simply disregard and dare the feds to do something about it.
I wanna see DeSantis go on TV, after Sleepy Joe’s handlers make that declaration, and quote Brandon Lee in The Crow:
“I see you’ve made your decision. Now, let’s see you enforce it.”
