You would hope that the bridge-laying vehicle was disable enough that your average guy or gal traveling the highways of America could not just jump in and drive away with it. Or even have the trailer secured in such a way that anybody else with a tractor could have come and take it away.
Yeah, me neither.

Semi-retired like Vito Corleone before the heart attack. Consiglieri to J.Kb and AWA. I lived in a Gun Control Paradise: It sucked and got people killed. I do believe that Freedom scares the political elites.

  1. With exception that if someone managed to get away with it, it’s a pretty conspicuous thing to be driving around in. It would probably be pretty easy to find.

  2. Those weigh 53 tons without the bridge (which isn’t in the pic). I bet the tractor broke down and they had to leave the trail when they towed it. Should have left someone to watch it until a new tractor could be hooked up.

A good theory but might not work if there are not any transporters available. Had a tank left for a week once near where I worked until the army could get a new trailer unit there. Harder to find suitable flat bed than tractor for most heavy items. A long time to be sitting next to the road.

Only one rule: Don't be a dick.
