Some reader were amazed at the Ferrari Formula One pit stop, so I looked and found a video of of the Mercedes team practicing pit stops with the actual drivers. I have seen races lost and won in the pits and even people getting killed. The pit is not a joke.

Drivers need just as much practice with pit stops so that they hit the mark perfectly every time. Note the tape measure on the track and how the driver hits the 0 point every time. Being off by an inch will throw the pit crew out of sync.
It’s amazing that the car is so light that they just need a lever for a jack. No hydraulics or pneumatics, just a lever and a skinny German.
