  1. Good idea but ok execution. FN makes a version of the M2 called the M3M/GAU-21 which has a rate of fire of 1,100 rpm at half the weight of the GAU-19 and no need for external power.

  2. Have a friend that joined the Coast Guard out of HS, told about training day on a Ma Deuce mounted on a patrol boat. They had a training officer standing over them to yank them off the gun ifhey lost track, because the.50 would push the boat off coursein a hurry, even turn themaround if fired to either side. That .50 BMG is quite a thing.

    1. I never cease to admire the physics of shooting. When I found out that an A-10 actually slows down when shooting its GAU, I thought it was BS, but several sources confirmed it.

  3. The three-barrel design reminds me of (Geeky youngster moment ahead) the mini-gun out of the Halo series. All it would need to complete the look is a hexagonal shield at the receiver.
Also my grandfather tells a story from Vietnam where a patrol boat annihilated a sampan into nothing but splinters with a quad 50 (Thanks Ma) and I can only imagine the same setup with the M3
