Gun Control Advocates: They have to be scratching their heads really hard by now.

The National Rifle Association has gained more than 100,000 new members in the last 18 days, the organization told POLITICO’s Playbook on Thursday.

The number of paid new members jumped from 4.1 million to 4.2 million in that time frame.

I know I am repeating myself: It Is Not 1994.

This was supposed to be the perfect storm. The US’s Dunblane Massacre and the gateway to absolute Gun Control. The death of the NRA was a foregone conclusion in the eyes of the “experts” and soon the Powers That Be would be free to give us a “better world” free from the threats of guns.

But with who knows how many million new gun owners in the country and an NRA that is more popular than the Government, the narrative took a gigantic hit to the nose.

That does not mean the Opposition will stop; what they cannot achieve by hook, they will try by crook. And crooked they are.

  1. If you really want to get your tinfoil hat on, the latest theory I saw floated went something like this: The .gov has got word that some country (China) has been making noises about invading over debt/resources. In order to deter them, the powers that be are spouting off about gun control to spur us to buy up guns and deter them. It couples nicely with the “China demands US citizen disarmament” crap that’s been flying about.

    Not that I believe a word of this, of course, I just found it amusing.

    1. Nah… the logistics of mobilizing 3 million soldiers (Chinese Army numbers) would be beyond their capabilities. Right now they are better served if they leave us alone. Making us default on the loans brings them down too and harder.

      1. I always assumed they would never call in the loans for the simple that they probably treat the loans like a currency along the lines of IOU trading and if they ever did call it it, a few hundred billion or a trillion or two getting sucked out of the economy (even if it never was there in the first place) would probably make China collapse first, and then since we don’t have to pay it (cause China is like gone) that we would be stronger…

  4. I would gladly sign up some of my friends with gift memberships to the NRA but they are already members. GOD BLESS AMERICA.

  6. And then you have people like Sebastian saying it’s not enough. Some might agree but their are some people in our movement that will only focus on the negative.

    1. And it is not enough… I would personally would like to see 8 million NRA members in the books; that would represent about 10% of US Gun Owners. With numbers like that, we could easily scale back Gun Control Laws all the way back to 1933 with some exceptions.
