With some hesitation born of nostalgia, I turned in two AR style rifles to the Miami Police Department as part of their gun buy-back program today.

As a former U.S. Army Infantry officer, I was well trained in the use of, and felt very comfortable with, the M-16/M-4 platform. I have always considered myself a responsible gun owner. My 14 year old daughter and I built one of the ARs- from scratch- together.

But after the events of last month, I have decided enough is enough.

Why am I calling bullshit on this one?  Yes, there are idiots out there turning or destroying their AR 15s, we have covered them here before. But you want to tell me that you built and accessorized the ARs and are willing to trade that scope for a $200 gift card? We are talking a scope that can be removed and used on a bolt-action hunting rifle that the Liberals insist we can keep because George Washington fought against venison wearing red coats and bleating with a British accent.

I am willing to bet the scope is easy triple the amount of taxpayer’s money he is getting for one of the rifles. Dear God I have been looking a simple frigging red dots for AR and $200 barely cover a basic decent one. And you are gonna tell me you are not going to remove a full fledged scope and sell it but just let it be destroyed with the rifle for a measly $200? Bullshit!

I am willing to bet those rifles are back in the owner’s gun safe after they did their duty posing for photographs. Or maybe back to some department’s weapons’ locker or evidence storage room.

I have been wrong before, though.

  1. Hey, if this idiot is genuinely willing to turn in his tools for a pittance, someone can pick up some nice hardware for pennies on the dollar.

  2. Lots of stink going on over his ‘only reason for’ garbage w/ all the anti’s going “see? see? this guy was a soldier and gun owner blah blah blah.” Well that’s nice. So am I and ‘No’. His little bit of virtue signalling means nothing to me.

  3. No shit… I d like someone that knows him to tell us the truth. Responsible gun owner my dimpled ass. You wanna be “responsible”??? Keep yer evil AR locked in yer safe where it cant be stolen or disappear from the “reaponsible” PD where we all know they NEVER lose anything… yup 2plus grand worth of guns for a gift card..fuk him

  4. He’s giving up an AR he built with his daughter? What a shit ass father. Way to both teach his daughter a bad lesson AND break her heart at the same time.

“Baby, remember that rifle we built together and all the happy memories that go along with it? I gave that up for $200 and a shit lost of Facebook likes.”

    1. Hint. He isn’t doing it for the money.

If he was in it for money, he would strip them down to the receivers and just turn the receivers in. And the PD would accept cut up receivers too.

Question: What did he do with the mags, and all the other stuff?

  5. Ha ha ha ha ha… Only a STOOPID LIBERAL would fall for that kind of bullcrap, fake “photo op” hoplophobia!
Like selling your car for 1/3 of its worth, and leaving your valuables in the trunk unintentionally!
