I see shit like this and I never want to pat federal taxes ever again:

If I decide to say “fuck it” and just stop paying federal taxes, I’m gong to find a good lawyer, show video like that to the jury, and make the argument “I was afraid that if I paid taxes I would be buying weapons for the Taliban.”

I know that if I heard that argument for a defendant, I’d acquit.

  1. The problem is, unless you work for cash, you can’t stop paying. They have withholding, remember. You can stop filing but the bastards still have your money.
You could become a cartelista, but the competition’s fierce.

  2. I’m thinking of starting to push for states to declare themselves ‘sanctuary’ from federal income taxes.

Just refuse to allow it to be collected, via withholding or any other means.

  3. I don’t believe tax courts have juries, just a judge (who is probably sympathetic to the prosecution). I suspect it was done as the gov’t wanted few to escape (though they would claim that it is more “efficient” if they don’t have to find an ignorant jury and educate them to the bizarre intricacies of tax law).

Only one rule: Don't be a dick.
