The Party must keep the People frightened. The official Party bogeymen may work on those within the bubble, but those who live outside the bubble likely know one or two Trump voters / pickup-truck drivers / straight white men, and aren’t afraid of them. So, the Communist / Anarchist menace must be allowed to thrive, for now, to keep the rest of the public afraid of the Revolution and primed to accept the Fascists as the only alternative to the Khmer Rouge.
I wonder if now could be an apt time to invade and corrupt Antifa, and turn them into a group that *actually* opposes fascism?
