David Rothschild, according to his biography:

I am an economist at Microsoft Research in New York City. I have a Ph.D. in applied economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. I have written extensively, in both the academic and popular press. My work pushes the boundaries on varying data and methods: polling, prediction markets, social media and online data, and large behavioral and administrative data. The work focuses on solving practical and interesting questions including: mapping and updating public opinion, the market for news, effect of advertising, finance, and an economist take on public policy.

I am also a fellow at the Applied Statistics Center at Columbia and the Penn Program on Opinion Research and Election Studies.

So this is a man who makes his money of his reputation as an impartial researcher of economics and, market and social trends.

Which makes me wonder why he chose to Tweet this form his verified account:

I guess these are white men terrorizing him (shamelessly stolen from Miguel’s post).

Here is my question, why would anyone interested in objective data analysis hire this man when he is willing to make demonstrably false statements about a social trend?  Something he is supposed to be an expert in.

I guess I should be grateful he is happy to pour his racism and willing to falsify information on social media.

Now we have evidence as to why we should dismiss his bullshit opinion.

  1. Narcissist. 100%

Almost every sentence in his bio starts with “I” It is all about him.

Which means that he cannot possibly wrong. Therefore, his conclusions about the Lobby Day rally are beyond reproach. I am sure, that is challenged, he would produce no end of statistics and data “proving” that gun control laws work and make the world safer, and reject without consideration any counter argument or data supporting that argument.

Point and laugh. it is about the only thing that will make any difference.
