Effective immediately, O.F. Mossberg & Sons will not accept any future orders from Dick’s Sporting Goods or Field & Stream, and is in the process of evaluating current contractual agreements.
“It has come to our attention that Dick’s Sporting Goods recently hired lobbyists on Capitol Hill to promote additional gun control.” said Iver Mossberg, Chief Executive Officer of O.F. Mossberg & Sons. “Make no mistake, Mossberg is a staunch supporter of the U.S. Constitution and our Second Amendment rights, and we fully disagree with Dick’s Sporting Goods’ recent anti-Second Amendment actions.”
Consumers are urged to visit one of the thousands of pro-Second Amendment firearm retailers to make their purchases of Mossberg and Maverick firearms. Firearm retailers can be found through the Mossberg Dealer Locator.

  1. And Mossberg makes their bread and butter in 50-state legal pump guns and .22 rifles. I think they may make an AR-15 or equivalent, but that gun is so irrelevant to their business that I would need to google it to confirm or deny the EBR’s existence.

If Dicks wants to maintain an FFL but have it be one that only peddles the kinds of guns that anti-gunners are currently allowing this move will HURT.

If Ruger and Savage could jump in too, I think that would be a killstroke.

  2. Dick’s seems willing to jettison their firearms customers. But, in alienating those patrons, Dick’s forgets that those won’t be stopping by for fishing, camping, golf, weightlifting, shoes, outerwear or anything else. Amazon just delivered annual purchase of golf gear and running shoes, stuff I’d normally get from Dick’s.

I’m no retail genius, maybe Dick’s can prosper by catering to soccer moms and hipsters who need ornaments for their man buns.

  3. I would love to be a fly on the wall at a board meeting and here them ask the CEO why their sales are in the tank.

  4. I would love to see these companies also announce that they won’t do business with certain Law Enforcement organizations (ex: the NYPD or the NY State Troopers) like Barrett and Hornady have done. If NY politicians are going to try and strong arm financial institutions for doing business with manufacturers and 2A lobbying groups, they can start feeling those policies impact their law enforcement organizations (which provide security for the aforementioned politicians).

  5. I love it. The dominoes are starting to fall. I bet more companies join in, and soon Dicks has no firearms to sell.

I also hope they do what Hornady has done, and end sales to states like NY. If they want a commerce war, by golly they’ll get one.
