  1. No doubt there are many people in DC right now who are sweating buckets while trying to come up with a way to spin this without crapping all over the “Socialism/Communism good!” narrative they’ve been building for the last…I don’t even know how long it’s been now. Though I imagine it will be mildly entertaining watching Grandpa Badfingers try to read whatever statement they do eventually put out. Not that I’ll be watching anyway.

    1. They’re well versed in Doublethink. They’ll shamelessly trot out the same shopworn “That’s Not REAL Socialism” they used when the other People’s Democratic Republics have shown themselves to be Tyrannical Cleptocracies, and will immediately forget all the times they praised those same governments.
There will be no embarrassment on their part. When has Squealer ever been embarrassed?

As for Sundown Joe, he will just read what to him are just more meaningless words, so that doctor lady whatshername will give him icecream and let him take his nap.

  2. Bet the remaining Brigada 2506 veterans wouldn’t mind getting another shot at the title.

    Just saying . . .

  3. The key is the Army, Police, and Security Forces. Are they disaffected, unhappy and as hungry as the rest of the citizens? Can they be seduced into attacking the Communist politicians?

What will the Cuban Emigres do?

What will Bumbling Joe Biden do?

You can bet whatever Biden and Blinken decide, it will be the exactly Wrong Path. Joe Biden has gotten every single Foreign Policy decision wrong in his entire political career, from cutting funding of the South Vietnamese Army in 1973 to everything in Iraq from 1990 and GW1 to cutting and running out of Iraq for a few months in 2012 before we had to return in 2014 to fight ISIS and keep Iraq from collapsing. I have faith in Joe Biden screwing up. It is what Joe does best.

    1. Even Obama said as much. Biden is a career screwup.

The irony of Obama and myself agreeing on anything is… considerable.

  4. During the Obama “administration” the Iranian people were out in huge numbers protesting the Mullahs, and got shot up and beat up for their efforts. Obama did nothing to aid or encourage the people. I predict the Xiden “administration” will do the same.

  5. They’re not wrong. Freedom represents a state without tight controls.

And to the collectivists at the New York Times & Taco Stand, “government == control”.

In their view, wanting to loosen even some of those tight controls is, by definition, anti-government.

To those of us with a more nuanced and realistic view, freedom isn’t necessarily anti-government. Some government is usually necessary, but it need not infringe on individual freedoms.

Freedom is anti-excessive-government. It is telling — and shameful — that a newspaper which owes its longevity to the lack of government controls would be pushing so hard to support excessive government and those controls.
