The NYPD will be no more. It might exist on paper but the rank and file officers will quit and there will not be enough police to manage the city ever again.
New York State Sues NYPD Over Its Handling Of 2020 Racial Justice Protests
New York Attorney General Letitia James has filed a lawsuit against the New York City Police Department, citing “a pattern of using excessive force and making false arrests against New Yorkers during peaceful protests” that sought racial justice and other changes.
James’ office says it has received “more than 1,300 complaints and pieces of evidence” about the police response to the protests in New York City. It’s now seeking a court order “declaring that the policies and practices that the NYPD used during these protests were unlawful.”
Along with the court order, the attorney general is asking for policy reforms, as well as a monitor to be installed to oversee the NYPD’s tactics and handling of future protests.
The city was in chaos. Police were attacked. Looting was happening in NYC’s shopping district. Stores were burned.
Now the AG is going to make the NYPD suffer for trying to regain control.
The next time a riot happens, I expect most the NYPD to say “fuck it, let it burn.”
And they should.

Look at the bill in Illinois that will eliminate qualified immunity and completely destroy the profession of policing. I’d point to the posts on Second City Cop, but Google has threatened them with exposure. The folks at SCC shut down to try to preserve their anonymity.
Cuomo and deBlasio prostrate themselves at the BLM altar, direct the NYPD to stand by while “peaceful” BLM protests turn into riots. De Blasio uses the NYPD as Storm Troopers to roust Jewish worship services. Cuomo lets violent criminals out of jail with “a No Bail” law, and then sues the department for not being lenient enough when having frozen water bottles, human waste and molotov cocktails thrown at them.
Meanwhile, in D.C. Pelosi pushes through an impeachment with no due process for a President leaving office in a week for the twin crimes of being Republican and not being born with a vagina. Does Pelosi or Biden Play the fiddle?

This is nothing by willful ignorance on the part of the State AG. In her universe, because she received complaints, the cops must be at fault. And, since there was probably nothing other than doublesuperfunhappy reports about how peaceful the protests were in the news, she is sure there is racism involved.
I hope the NYPD ignores the mayor’s directive to just fold, and puts this case in front of a jury. And, of the AG backs down and drops the suit, I hope the police union sues her for slander, defamation, and filing false charges.
This needs to go to trial. The evidence MUST be made public on a national stage.

I can be pretty hard on cops. They wield a large chunk of power; I demand they adhere to high levels of professionalism. And I am not a huge fan of the current policing trends. Militarization is a mistake.
That being said, this is even worse. Any NYPD officer with three brain cells to rub together needs to immediately leave. Rd’s advice is pretty sound, but if I was in their shoes I’d walk. Find another position or job elsewhere. Anywhere.
Because the PTB are going to get them killed. They’ll either saddle them with impossible restrictions that will paralyze them, or they will hound them into the grave afterward. And they don’t care.
The left’s goal is to eliminate the multiple layers of policing in the United States and replace it with a single, federal force that’s as committed to professionalism and honesty as the FBI.
