  1. *sigh*

Want to save black lives? Take on the gangs. They kill at a rate at least 50x of any police-related shootings.

But it’s safer to scream at middle-class restaurant goers and cops, because they’re not sick enough of your deal yet.

  2. I hope they realize that, while Huntsville may be the blossoming Woke Captiol of Alabama, they’re not in Seattle or Portland and it’s still the south. Only so much shit will be tolerated before straight hickory sticks and spicy smoke grenades get deployed.

Most people here just still wanna be left the hell alone and are still peeved about Kay Ivey acting like the Democrat she once was (or still is).

  3. Ragnar, I can’t agree that Huntsville may be the blossoming Woke Capitol of Alabama – Birmingham has that distinction, in full flower. I do agree that there are places that those activists would not be tolerated.

The Leftists still complain about the tear gas and rubber bullets used by LEOs in Huntsville earlier this Summer (which was applauded by right-thinking citizens).

BTW, ‘The Poppy’ bar is downtown on the square. It is a replica of an English Pub (Huntsville was originally named ‘Twickenham’). ‘Parliament’ is their restaurant-expansion, which hasn’t opened yet (thereby explaining the empty tables).

    1. Reactionary, I hope you’re right. I hope Huntsville keeps its balance as I like it here. When I see Google and Facebook locating facilities here, the spidey senses start pinging like active sonar. I watched the live-streams of the protest earlier this year, I’m not happy it went to LTL and spicy air but I’m not surprised either. It’s definitely been an interesting year, hopefully the fuckery stays to a minimum around here . . . at least until I get a remote property and get it squared away.

I knew it was the Poppy. I hadn’t been there yet but once the mask mandates go the way of the dodo I’m going to have to go check it out with the wife. Quite a few new restaurants opened up between when we moved for a couple years and then came back.

Only one rule: Don't be a dick.
